The perfect gift for gardeners and nature lovers!
Hello Robin and Chick!
The bestselling Robin is not alone this time, she now has a baby chick on the branch with her!
The Chatham Island Black Robin was on the brink of extinction - down to only 5 specimens back in 1979. With the help of Wildlife Service and conservationists, there are now over 250 of these beautiful Robins in the wild and the good news is their numbers are increasing.
Black robins live in woody vegetation, beneath the canopy of trees. They spend a lot of time in the lower branches of the forest in order to shelter from strong winds. You can often hear them but they are much harder to spot as they dart through the dense shrubs! But don't worry - you can gaze upon your Metalbird instead, and it won't fly away!
These gorgeous Metalbirds are made in Australia and can be hammered into any timber surface. They look amazing attached to a tree or post and silhouetted against the sky. We'd love to see what you do with yours!
Simply drill a small hole into a timber post and hammer the bird into position, or you might find just a tap with a hammer is enough. You can also install with a hammer into a tree branch - the metalbirds will not cause damage to a tree.
Remember - rust is a must! Your bird may already be slightly rusty when it gets to you - and the longer they are out in the elements the more beautiful and rusty they will get!
Size: Approx 14cm high x 32cm wide (including base) in 3 mm Corten steel.
