In German, kohlrabi means “cabbage turnip,” referring to the fact that it is in the cabbage family but forms an edible turnip-like bulb just above the soil line. Nutritious and cold hardy, the flavour of this purple Kohl Rabi is tender and sweet; they can be enjoyed raw or cooked. Great in salads, soups and stews.
